From the moment the gate swings open to this private mountain preserve, you begin to sense it. Then the two mile drive through three hundred acres of pristine mountain woods confirms your every wish. "This is going to be good."
Step Away Lodge is over three thousand square feet of impecable craftsmanship nestled in a picture perfect settting with complete privacy... on a lake of its own.
Needing some downtime? Choose from one of four porches or your own private dock to rest and reflect. And if you need some help relaxing, our state of the art Hot Tub with over one hundred jets should do the trick.
Looking for activities? You can hike or bike. Play horseshoes or darts, ping-pong or foosball. Shoot some hoops, watch wild game on our bird island, or build a fire in our fire pit.
If and when you do decide to stay inside you will find top of the line furniture with first class beds, bedding and fixtures. And as you settle in, you'll gradually discover that each room isn't just tastefully furnished; but was carefully planned with your personal getaway in mind. We call it a Step Above. We're not bragging, that's just the way we do things at Step Away Lodge!
Step Away Lodge is a beautifully decorated four bedroom, three bath log home that sleeps up to twelve (12) people and offers the following:
 One King size bed, Three Queen size bed with luxurious 400 count sheets.
Wood-burning fireplace in the Den, central heat and air, washer and dryer
Covered porch and connecting deck with stunning mountain views, hot tub, wood burning fireplace, and propane gas grill
Satellite TV with Network Channels, DVD/VCR,
DSL internet Access
Outdoor activies: Private Stocked Fishing Lake, Basketball Hoop, Horseshoes pit, Firepit, and Picnic Area
Foosball table, Ping Pong, board and card games, and books
Bath essentials such as private label soap and shampoo, hair dryer and thick towels
The fully equipped kitchen includes:
Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and coffee maker
Dishes, glassware, utensils, cutlery, pots, and pans
The only items you'll need to bring will be food, beverages, and condiments.
- Rates are $250 per night plus tax for up to four (4) guests, each
additional guest above four (4), age of one (1) year or older, $20 per night
plus tax..

Weekly rates are $1610 plus tax, plus each additional guest above four
(4), age of one (1) year or older, $140 per week per person plus tax.

Cleaning fee $160.

Two night minimum stay on non-holidays.

Three night minimum stay for New Years, Memorial Day,
4th of July, Labor Day, and the month of October.

Four night minimum stay for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Pets Always Stay Free! There are no size or weight limits or pet deposits!
Because we are truly pet friendly, we provide the following amenities for your pets: Large pet bed, food bowl and water bowl.
A fifty percent (50%) deposit is required when making reservations. The balance will be due fourteen (14) days prior to arrival date. Deposits will be returned for cancellations made more than twenty-one (21) days to arrival date, minus a $30 cancellation fee.
