The Corner Stone Cafe

Corner Stone Cafe recently welcomed new owners—but the popularity of breakfast time at the restaurant has made it a mainstay on Main St. Skip breakfast at your cabin rental for the day and head into town for mouthwatering homestyle cooking.

It’s not the kitchen that gives this restaurant its warm atmosphere. Instead, the homely knick-knacks decorating the casual setting and friendly smiles from servers instantly brighten your day.

Come hungry because the menu packs a hearty meal onto every plate. Dig into a truly southern classic like the gravy-smothered Country Fried Steak or a pair of flapjacks served with made-to-order eggs. Also, the Simple Breakfast or a couple of donuts never disappoint for a quick fill-me-up before a day on the town.

After eating, stop by Main Street Antiques, located right next door and one of the coolest shops in Downtown Ellijay.

Wake yourself with the cafe-induced aromas wafting through this local coffee shop. Satisfy your morning caffeine cravings at the coffee bar, or sit down and enjoy the day’s most important meal.

Ellijay Coffeehouse renovated one of Downtown’s historic buildings from the 1940s and transformed it into one of the best breakfast spots in Ellijay, GA. You’ll feel nostalgic looking at the various 45 records, retro Nintendo console, collectible playing cards, and 90s music playing, setting the casual atmosphere.

The egg and brie-stuffed Appalachian Sunrise served with your choice of hot or cold brew will have you coming back for seconds before the end of your trip.

You might be unimpressed when arriving in the parking lot of Mike’s Ellijay Restaurant. However, the food waiting for you inside this down-to-earth restaurant will truly blow you away. It’s a hidden gem that locals frequent for a cheap yet hearty meal.

This restaurant specializes in breakfast—it closes early daily at 2 p.m. That gives you plenty of time to squeeze in a dish from each of its menu categories!

There’s something for everyone—omelets, biscuits with gravy, French toast, breakfast bowls, and southern sides like grits and scattered hash browns. Be sure to check the daily chalkboard specials for items you won’t find on the menu.

Head up—this restaurant is old school—in a charming, mountain town kind of way. It keeps the dining room simple with hardwood floors and a few sports memorabilia decorations. And the biggest kicker is that it’s cash only.

Back Porch Bistro

Had a long night setting your high score in the game room at The Mason Jar cabin or lounging around the fire pit at our Treeborn Lodge cabin? There’s no need to rush breakfast. Sleep in and grab a late meal at Back Porch Bistro, which doesn’t open until 11:30 a.m. anyway.

Hot, pressed panini sandwiches are irresistible during brunch hours. The Pick Two Combo has great value and lets you sample a variety of menu items. You’ll get a half sandwich from choices like Bistro Pastami, Black Forest Ham, and Harvest Chicken. The combo also includes one of their signature homemade soups or substitute it for a half salad. That should be plenty of food to hold you over until it’s time for dinner.

The laid-back dining room is spacious for accommodating large groups, and it is also pet-friendly for guests staying in our pet-friendly cabin rentals.

Nothing says Southern hospitality more than homestyle cooking—especially in the morning. Country Corner Kitchen flickers on its ‘ope’ sign at 6 AM, and you won’t want to delay a second more. Trust us—these will be the best biscuits you’ll find in the North Georgia Mountains.

After a decade in business, it’s one of Ellijay’s best restaurants that built its reputation on good food and better service. Even for an establishment this size, you’ll get fast service and a smile when serving your food.

The menu has every kind of breakfast biscuit you can think of—keep it simple with a plain butter biscuit or top it with meats like tenderloin, bologna, sausage, or country-fried steak. Try the Cuban breakfast with eggs, toast, and bacon for something more hearty. Gluten-free options are also available.

Fuel up for a day of adventure exploring hiking trails in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, boating on Carters Lake, or other activities we recommend to our guests. If you’ve stayed at our cabin rentals before, you might recall a place called Sue’s Log Cabin. Although the name changed to The Double L Restaurant a few years ago, you can count on the same great hearty breakfast meals to kickstart your day.

This restaurant is rooted in the heritage of Gilmer County. After a storied history since 1984, it passed hands to the originator, Sue’s daughter, who learned how to perfect family recipes.

Get in line at this cafeteria-style diner and find all your breakfast favorites like eggs, bacon, biscuits, sausage, and gravy. It’s a buffet, so don’t be shy about returning for seconds.

Mr. P’s has more than 40 years of serving the best breakfast in Ellijay, Ga. But don’t take our word for it. Ask the locals who voted it the best in town. Grab a seat on the closed front porch area and dig into homestyle southern cooking.

Want to know their secret? The owner helps make food fresh daily, starting in the morning. It’s how the homemade biscuits get so fluffy and the fried chicken seasoned to perfection. Get the best of both worlds with one (or three) fried chicken biscuits.
