Lofty Pines on the Cartecay is adjacent to the Rich Mountain Wildlife preserve, which has miles of biking/hiking/hunting, and fishing trails!
This beautifully landscaped property is the perfect place to take a relaxing stroll by the river or let the kids play by one of North Georgia's top rivers for family fun! Sit on the beautiful screened-in porch and listen to the sounds of the river rush by you. Or, if you prefer, build a fire outside in the fire pit just steps from the river...what a perfect place to get toasty and snuggle up to that special someone! You will feel like you are in a national forest, but you are just minutes from local grocery stores and the downtown area! Lofty Pines on the Cartecay is a quaint 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that sleeps up to four (4) people and offers the following:
- King Master on the Main level with private bath and walk-in shower, 24" TV
- Queen bedroom on Upper level with 24" TV/DVD, private bath and large porcelain tub/shower combo
- Twin over Double Bunk Bed in Loft area
- The living room has a wood-burning stove (firewood provided Oct 1-April 1), 40" TV (Cable)
- Hot Tub
- Fire pit (firewood not provided)
- NOT PET-FRIENDLY
- WIFI
Fully equipped kitchen: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, glassware, utensils, cutlery, pots, and pans. Linens for each bed, 2-bath towels, 1-hand towel, 1-washcloth per person listed on guest list, dresser or closet for clothing storage, central heat & air, washer/dryer, vacuum and/or broom and dust pan, mop, internet, and propane gas grill. In addition we provide a complimentary start-up supplies of: Toilet Tissue (1 roll per bathroom), 1- roll paper towels, 4- kitchen garbage bags, dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent for at least 2 loads. Many of our cabins include more that this basic list of inventory items. The only items you'll need to bring will be food, beverages, and condiments.
Required Fees include $145 Cleaning fee, $65 Damage Protection Waiver, processing fee, guest service fee, and a 15% lodging tax

Relaxing and refreshing!!
What a wonderful place to get away!! Nearly perfect for my family! Clean with great decking, porches, swings, river views and river access, with so many options for sitting and relaxing. I cannot even begin to tell you how much we wanted to stay longer. We were even welcomed by the neighbors' dogs. :-) It will be my starting point for my own retirement/getaway. WiFi was fantastic; Kitchen is very well appointed; Hot water is not a concern; The bedrooms are comfortable and inviting. The bathrooms are also worthy of compliment. The location with it's thoughtful landscaping is beautiful and private without being too secluded. The Cartecay river is clear and swiftly flows by the cabin with a soft, peaceful sound. Lofty Pines is wonderful! Things to note for interested parties: There are too many steps for the very young or very old. The two baths are located in both of the bedrooms. Don't forget your water shoes for meandering through the river. We found the hot tub wonderful on day 1 and day 2, but by day 3, it reached 108 and never recovered, even after resetting. We were so happy with everything else, we didn't feel we needed to call and have it remedied. We found we had to cover the pretty couch upholstery (hairy, itchy, cowhide patches) with a blanket to make it a little more comfortable. At this location, the river is fast flowing with a relaxing sound, but it is not noisy like a rushing rapid or waterfall if that is what your looking to get.

Lofty Pines cabin was exactly what we wanted. It's located directly on the river with huge pine trees all around. Quiet country feel yet close to stores we needed. Cabin was really nicely decorated and comfortable.
